The topic I chose was the significance of the Assouan Dam in the Egyptian Gazette. I chose this topic because I thought it would be interesting to research something that is not inside Cairo or Alexandria, which makes up a majority of the Gazette"s news.

Death and its causes are widely reported in the Egyptian Gazette, however it is not reported equally at all times of the year. Knowing the months when death is most common allows for further analysis on what causes the death rate to change throughout the year.
